What actually affects the price
1. Material and finish
Raw pine and MDF are the most affordable and come paint-ready, so you finish them to match your home. Pre-primed, stained, glass and steel doors cost more because of the materials and extra work.
2. Size
Standard single doors (around 930 × 2100mm) are the best value. Wider openings, extra-tall doors and double-door setups use more material and a longer track, so they cost more.
3. Design and detailing
A plain flush panel is the entry point. Slatted, panelled, herringbone and glazed designs involve more cutting, assembly and finishing — that craftsmanship is what you’re paying for.
4. Hardware
The sliding track kit (rail, rollers, stoppers, floor guide) is a real cost. Many of our doors include it; if you’re building your own door, you can buy the kit on its own from R745.
5. Made-to-order vs off-the-shelf
We’re a small, owner-run studio and every door is handmade to order to your exact size and finish. That means no mass-produced compromises — but also realistic lead times rather than same-day retail. You’re paying for a door built for your opening, not a generic stock size.
